I can appreciate the humor but I must say in all seriousness this song is very special to me. I had the privilege of being part of my church choir. Our choir director was excellent and we performed pieces like this and The Messiah to perfection. Many of the singers in our choir were from a near-by university and I was not nearly as talented as they but what an experience to sing with them. But anyway, we had taken our rehearsal to an area in Southern Indiana one Saturday in the fall of the year. We rehearsed in a beautiful A-frame home that sat high on a cliff. It was all windows that direction of the overlook. This choir director took us to places like outdoor theatre in the summer and special occassions for holiday rehearsals like this day. We were taking a break and were taking a short walk in the wooded area and stopped in the small chapel on the property. Spontaneously we sang the hallelujah chorus as a group. I still remember it like it was yesterday. It felt like heaven and was the sweetest incense to the Lord. I will never forget that moment. It was like 20 years ago.
[this is good]
Sounds AWESOME! I have had moments like that too....back in my teens and early adulthood, when a bunch of my choir friends & I would go on a retreat up in the mountains, or to a choir competition. I've also felt incredibly close to the Lord at times when leading worship or just worshiping alone...those times when you feel completely enveloped by the Holy Spirit and everyone else around just kind of fades away.. Those "God moments" are so so precious! Thanks for sharing yours... I know you will cherish this memory all your life.
Very funny!
