OK, a lot of you received a referral to this post from me. It is PRICELESS! PERFECT! It's a video over on Atomic's Vox and you can go check it out right here. I'd LOVE to hear everyone's feedback!.
OK... Sumpin's wrong with my computer. Either that or CuteOverload doesn't like me anymore.
I haven't been able to post comments since Saturday. The page loads up, but I don't get a comments section or box in IE, and in Firefox the page loads up but isn't 'Done'. Down in that bottom left hand corner of the window I get "Transferring data from api.ning.com...". It'll let me click on 'comments' under any of the photos, but again, no comments section to even read much less submit my own. :-(
I've run Ad-Aware to search for funky little baddies and stuff. Just ended up deleting some cookies. Then I downloaded Windows Live OneCare, Microsoft's virus and spyware software. Still nuthin'. I'm annoyed. I'm frustrated. I'm going through withdrawal.
CWAP!
UPDATE: Only 3 of you have replied in the affirmative so far, so I've sent those people an invitation to join "The Analogical Imagination" group, already set up by lexcorpninja. I figured that, for now at least, we REALLY don't need to reinvent the wheel when there's already one in place. Check out the group, people, and let me know if the book and movie choices appeal to you. If not, then we'll go ahead and start another group. Deal? Anyone else who wants an invite to the group let me or lexcorpninja know. As she said, the more the better! Whee!!
OK.... so there's this article today in the Sunday Seattle Times Northwest Life section. Titled "In the Company of Men" it's about book clubs, and specifically discusses the anomaly that is a MALE book club. An excerpt:
"That's why I was a bit miffed, frankly, when I heard about a boys' book club that not only has a
name (BBB, short for Boys, Beer and Books) but has been operating successfully for almost five years. Having failed to make my own book club last more than a month, I was both curious and skeptical that men, of all people, could somehow do it better."Please read the article in its entirety. It got me to thinking though. What about starting an online book club? Or several? Would anybody be interested? Of course, EVERYONE is invited to participate. How would we choose the book(s)? Would we "discuss" the book through a live chat room (meet there at a pre-scheduled time) or just discuss through our usual comment threads?
I for one would like to try this. So I put it out to all of you to discuss methods for choosing books, time allotted to read the book (a month perhaps?), discussion format, etc. We could even have several book clubs, perhaps. For instance, within the Wise Dove group perhaps we'd read something of a Christian nature. The Cuteologists....well, I don't know if we read books unless they make us go..."Awwwwwwwww!!!" "Squeee!!!"....or "Prosh"!!! ;-)
I'm very interested in feedback on this, so please....tell me what you REALLY think. But please, be kind. 8-D And if anyone wants to volunteer to head up a specific book club, speak up.
Now....discuss.
